This policy explains how we (Heron’s Rural Retreat, a campsite and glampsite) collect and use data captured via our website (www.bragenhamfarm.co.uk), via emails and calls from customers and prospective customers, via our partners and via our advertising activity (social media, Google).


Most visits to our website do not involve the exchange of any personal data unless you contact us about making a booking and provide us with information needed to fulfil the request you have made from us. We store this information on a computer. In addition there is information collected about your visit to our website via cookies.

What cookies are in use on this website?

Our website is built in Squarespace. Squarespace uses the following cookie types: Functional/Required and Analytics/Performance.

Functional and Required cookies help our visitors can navigate and use key features on our site.

They help us, for example, see if

  • you have chosen to close a promotional banner/message on our website

They are also used to manage customer login details, which is something we do not currently provide but might do in the future.

  • send you email newsletters if you have opted in to receive these

  • Vehicle registration number

  • Passport/ID (for overseas visitors, to comply with UK legislation)

We may also occasionally review customer data to assess performance of our marketing activity and guest satisfaction, and we use this to improve our offering.

Third parties

We do not sell or share guest’s personal data that we collect via our website, email or telephone with any third parties.

However we do work with several third-parties who provide technical, marketing or advertising services to us. Data captured via these partners is shared with us to help us deal with enquiries and manage bookings. These partners include

  • Stripe (Stripe.com) is our partner for secure online payments. They capture data from customers to process payments. See https://stripe.com/gb/privacy for further details. We retain access to some of your data which will be used for accounting and tax reporting purposes, to capture balance/deposit payments due and to administer any potential refunds. We do not have access to your card or bank details.

  • Square (Squareup.com) is our partner for contactless card payments for guests staying on site. We retain access to some of your data which will be used for accounting and tax reporting purposes, and to administer any potential refunds. We do not have access to your card or bank details.

  • Queensborough Group (www.queensboroughgroup.co.uk/) provide our online booking system (“Q-Book”) which also acts as a central repository for all booking data including direct bookings and those from our partners, which include

Data processors and sub-processors

Queensborough Group are our Data Processors. HotelHost Company and Rackspace are sub-processors providing services to Queensborough Group in the provision of our online booking system.

General
